BG changing me over to a fixed tariff without my agreement

As it states above, my electricity has been moved from variable standard to a November 2023 tariff which will be cheaper in the long run and has a 50 exit fee.. However the Gas is still on Variable with no exit fees. This happened last November, I didn't think to check the tariff against the bill in February.
I have no emails or communication about this and I can only find the variable ones when my fixed rate expired around April time last year. Bit of a conundrum, do I say nothing or ask why? All a bit odd.
