Eyeplan Care Pan

My 88 year old mother was persuaded by an optician to take out a care plan from 'Eyeplan' when she bought 3 pairs of glasses. She was told it would give her a discount, access to routine optical checks and accidental damage cover. She felt pressured into signing the agreement and was not offered a cooling off period. I have read the agreement and it locks her in to paying £13 per month for 18 months, but extends automatically every time she has a routine appointment. So in theory it will never end. The T&Cs do not specify the amount of the discount but do allow eyeplan to vary the price and discount at their own discretion. She is now locked into this optician who is significantly more expensive than her previous provider. I see no benefit to my mother in this plan and so have tried to cancel it (at my mother's request), but have been told that it remains in force for the 18 month period. Is this contract legally binding or is there any way of cancelling it? I am aware that several of her friends have subscribed to this plan and now regret it.

I would imagine a solution would be for her to pay the full price for the 3 pairs she is claiming the discount for plus any test fees? I guess that would be a GOGW though?. Eyeplan is generally intended as a long term scheme to cover enhanced eyecare + discount off specs. Not sure how you reconcile the accidental damage cover she has benefited from ?
