Utterly Confused do i switch or not

Hi i live in a two bed apartment. I switch my boiler off and it only goes on for bathing and dishwashing etc. I have switched off all energy zapping devices. But also need to use a machine through the night.

I am currently paying £65 my tie in has ended a few months ago

Current rates are

Elec 1748kwh, 27.86 per kwh, 48.13 standing charge per day

Gas 2877kwh, unit rate 7.37 kwh, standing charge 27.22

They are saying my annual cost is £974 per year.

Yet they are offering another tarrif flexible for £81.18 per month annual cost 974.14 per. Im confused how the annual coat is 14 pence difference but they want to add £16.18 to my direct debit??

They state elec 48.13 daily standing charge, unit rate 27.86 assumed annual usage 1748kwh estimated annual cost 662.85

Gas 27.22 daily standing charge, unit rate 7.37 per kwh, assumed annual useage 2877 kwh, estimated ann al cost 311.29

They are also offering a 12 month fixed for 106.80 per month annual cost 1281.47.

Elec daily standing charge 48.13p, unit rate40. 44 per kwh, assumed annual 1748 kwh, estimated annual cost 882.74

Gas daily 27.22p, unit 10.41 kwh, assumed annual 2877kwh estimated annual 398.73

They are not offering another "flexible" tariff, they are offering the same flexible tariff.  They probably want to adjust your DD upward because they know those rates will rise considerably in October.  If you opt for the 12 month fixed tariff you are gambling that charges at those rates will amount to less than you would pay if you ride-out subsequent increases in the "flexible" tariff.

I'm with Eon.next.  They overestimated my annual usage (partially because it has gone down since last year).  If I look on their website I could sign-up for exactly the same "flexible" tariff that I am already on at a considerably reduced DD because my electricity consumption is proving to be less than they had thought.  I have not done anything about this yet, it will all come out in the wash eventually.
