Barclaycard Avios Plus (rewards CC)

Looks like I can top up my British Gas account using a credit card.
I am in credit at the moment - just wondering if I would have to pay fees if I did this.
Has anyone any idea?

I've just applied and went through Quidco for £14.25 cashback, which has already tracked.
That will almost pay one monthly fee !
Hopefully I've done my maths right and won't need to mess about too much to meet the £3,000 spend.

Applied for the Barclaycard Avios Plus and got my confirmation email on Sunday 17th on the 50k Avios offer. Now activated the card, and the app says I have 25k bonus Avios, conditional on the 3k in 3 months spend target.
Their chat is constantly offline, but keen to have some assurance I'll get the 50k points before I put my spending on the card - otherwise I'd divert it elsewhere (and before too many of the monthly charges if I won't use it).
Anyone else seen the same?0 -
If you have set up the online account, send them a secured message. That offer was valid up until 18th July so you absolutely should be applicable if accepted on 17th!If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing0 -

The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0

I applied on the 16th but never received a letter saying it was approved. I just had the card turn up. The last person I spoke to said my account was opened on the 19th so I think that is the issue. I had the point that I applied days in advance of their deadline so we’ll see0 -
Hmm.... have you seen the DragonPass reviews on Trustpilot? With 93% of 146 reviews attracting just one star, it's not worth the hassle for me, I'm afraid.

With regards to reviews, the problem of those lounge subscription/benefits services (PriorityPass, LoungeKey, DragonPass, etc) is that access is ultimately subject to capacity and many lounge operators have introduced guarantee entry advance booking (at additional fee) which means that people then turn up to the lounge at peak time and are either refused entry or asked to wait 45 minutes plus.. AmericanExpress Platinum is slightly better, because in addition to PriorityPass, you have access to some extra lounges outside the main networks, like the CenturionLounge (the one at Heathrow T3 is very nice) , Plaza Premium and some airline lounges around the world when flying with said airlines (even in economy).
back to the Avios Plus card itself, aside of any introductory bonus, I think is a vastly inferior product then the Amex BAPP, as the upgrade voucher is not great and vastly inferior to the companion voucher offered via Amex BAPP0
