Nationwide PIN reminder

I am struggling to understand Nationwide PIN reminder. I log on to my account and all is good. I select PIN reminder and it then:
  • To check it's really you
  • Please insert card in reader 
  • Insert PIN
If I new the PIN, why would I be asking for a reminder ???

    How did you log on - since you don't know your pin then presumably you used passnumber and text ?

    Assuming that you are using a desktop/laptop then

    Pay attention to item 1, i.e. don't use your card reader to log in
    Log into the Internet Bank using your memorable data and passnumber

    Your new PIN will be sent by post takes 3-5 days

    If none of the above works then try the phone method or if you are lucky enough to live near an actual branch go there. Don't forget your ID.
