Hi all. Asking on behalf of my parents. They've deferred their state pension for almost 10 years. They've applied to withdraw it now and its already taken 4 months. Any one have any idea how long this should /could take? Many thanks.

did they apply online or by post? There are quite a few posts around delays at DWP and many are due to the extra step required to get postal applications scanned in so that they can be dealt with by people still working from homeI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

The OP's parents have been in deferment for over ten years.

If you have deferred for more than a year, you need to call the Pension Service to claim.
And I remember from posts years back (well before the universal covid/WFH excuse) that it took several weeks to put a deferred state pension into payment.
