being massively overcharged

i signed with my current supplier in 2019 on a fixed tariff of £92 a month dual fuel for 2 yrs but that tariff never happened the amount varied from month to month for example 1 month I was billed -£2.70 gas and £248 electric and eventually was put back on prepayment with a debt of £730 electric £550 gas which I've disputed several times but always falls on deaf ears no acknowledging any failure of their part at all so the supplier started taking £20 per meter per week now  both prepayment meters say f credit all the time and even though I'm on prepayment top ups I'm still getting bills generated...since 20th of January 2022 I've spent £1,514 between both meters and been billed £301 gas and £377 electric surely this is very wrong the good thing about prepayment is you pay before you use so no bills ... my supplier refuse point blank to even consider there could be a fault with the meters there should be £10 emergency credit for each meter but I get £2.56 for emergency electric and £0.08p for gas it's ridiculous but when I told them that yesterday I was told there's only 1 reason the £10 isn't available and that's because I've already used it and all monetary amounts to do with my account are correct and the extra bills are for standing charges and 5% vat and basically they are right I'm wrong .. I eve  contacted  ofgem and they said my supplier have disputed what I'm saying and I agreed in Jan to the £40 a week debt recovery and that's the only time I've contacted them so thats basically ends my case with ofgem because i have no proof of conversations or anything were in fact I've rang and rang and get absolutely nowhere and have no clue what to do

Oh dear. Your post is very difficult to read but I sense that you thought that £92 a month was buying you an ‘all you can eat’ tariff.

The only things that are fixed in the contract are the term; the daily standing charge and the unit price. You would have beeen billed for the actual energy that you used at the agreed tariff rates. If follows that when your heating was on during the Winter, your energy bill would have been higher than in the summer.

Your £92 per month would have been based on an assumed number of kWh for both gas and electricity. Changes to the monthly payment are a common occurrence when the amount of energy used does match the assumed amounts.

My advice: make an appointment to meet with a Citizens Advice energy adviser.

Starting here as this seems to be where it all started to go wrong.
There never was a 'fixed tariff of £92 a month' it was a tariff with fixed costs per kWh and fixed daily standing charges which were estimated to be £92 a month, but which would have been changed if your consumption varied from the estimated level, so the £92 would have gone up if you used more than expected...
The billing each month would have depended on your supplier getting a meter reading, either manual from you, or via a smart meter. If they didn't get the meter reading then there would have been an estimate which would have been updated and adjusted the next time they got a real meter reading...
It sounds like you were using more than expected and the £92 was not covering your costs and you eventually went back onto pre-payment with the accumulated debt...

... no acknowledging any failure of their part at all so the supplier started taking £20 per meter per week now  both prepayment meters say f credit all the time and even though I'm on prepayment top ups I'm still getting bills generated...since 20th of January 2022 I've spent £1,514 between both meters and been billed £301 gas and £377 electric surely this is very wrong the good thing about prepayment is you pay before you use so no bills ...
This assumes you have been topping up the meter enough to cover your debt repayment, standing charges/consumption and you have not made any use of the 'emergency credit'...
Once you use the emergency credit, the standing charges/debt payments are not taken but still build up until you top up enough to clear them and reset your emergency credit.

... my supplier refuse point blank to even consider there could be a fault with the meters there should be £10 emergency credit for each meter but I get £2.56 for emergency electric and £0.08p for gas it's ridiculous but when I told them that yesterday I was told there's only 1 reason the £10 isn't available and that's because I've already used it and all monetary amounts to do with my account are correct and the extra bills are for standing charges and 5% vat and basically they are right I'm wrong ..
    They could be correct unfortunately.
I would suggest that you go to the CAB and ask them for help to understand all the bills you have been sent and where you are right now in terms of what you owe and to see if there is any help you can get to deal with this...

Your £92 a month was not a fixed amount. The amount you pay per unit is fixed so if you use more gas/electricity your bill goes up, and if you use less it goes down even on a fixed tariff. The direct debit amount should then usually be changed to cover any changes in usage so you don't fall into debt.
Did you get any letters or emails about changing the direct debit amount and if you did, what did you do about it?
If you have your initial and end readings and know the tariff amount you were on, you should be able to do your own sums to see if the arrears are in the correct ballpark figure or not.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

The "fixed" refers to the price per unit and standing charges, NOT the amount of gas/elc you use.

Sadly, this is another example of how millions may have misunderstood the complex nature of fuel bills

Worst of all is what these suppliers annd the media describe as the "CAP."  To most a 'cap' is just that it won't go any higher but they are actually chatting about price per unit/standing charges

OP, I hope you can sort it out soon, I am feeling for you.

The fixed DD says you will use an average of 123 kWh electric and 345 kWh of gas per month, in summer you will use considerably less of both and this will build up a credit so that in winter you might use a bit more electric due to having lights on more and considerably more gas due to using the heating more.
If on a prepayment meter then the meter might only take actual kWh's used when you go into the emergency credit and when you top up so much is taken off the top up for any debt, emergency credit and SC's.
Someone please tell me what money is
