Eva Air to Bangkok - Feedback

Hi all,
We are looking to book our first long haul flight away with the kids (6,9 &11), and planning a trip to Thailand.
Eva Air and Thai Airways are coming out the cheapest...but can't find a lot online about Eva. Keen to get any feedback on their suitability, particularly in terms of in-flight entertainment, food etc?
Thanks!
Steve

We have recently returned from Bangkok, Flew with KLM (Newcastle-Amsterdam-Bangkok) all went well. At time of booking KLM were best price if you don't include long stopovers. I understand EVA air is a budget airline, so I wouldn't expect great food or entertainment. Have flown with Thai Airways in the past always been a good experience. The food on KLM was adequate, Thai Airways was as I remember quite spicy. Hope you enjoy your trip.0

I've flown with EVA Air to Bangkok in the past, but not for several years. They are a full service carrier with long haul routes, not a 'budget' airline, based in Taiwan and competitor to China Airlines which I used more regularly.I would say they are fine, several classes to choose from, decent food, entertainment and crew attitude. It will be a nonstop service to Bangkok on their way to Taipei.Thai will also be nonstop, very nice airline but they are having financial difficulties so services might be a bit cut back and crew may be demoralised, could be hard to get a refund for cancellations etc.Evolution, not revolution0

Experience from a few years ago - Thai was very good and Eva was fine but would do Thai if I had to choose.0

I would avoid Thai at present, they are limping from one financial crisis to another, there are still UK citizens whose flights were cancelled two years ago waiting for refunds. Eva has a good reputation and I would have no hesitation in booking with them0
