Eon Next Fix V16 is 60% more than Flex, not 50% as Martin says.....

The way @Northern_Wanderer has done it is correct as he does not have gas and can therefore ignore it.

I do have gas but with a different supplier, so never going to have dual fuel, was trying to work out if the fix on eon for electric is within the recommended parameters of less than 50% more than current rate. This gets more confusing then for the % rate increase that might be acceptable for a fix for just one utility.... What darned % does one use then? Facepalm

Just to confuse you , i'll be going from current svr to Oct svr & as a very low user the increase works out at just under 40%.

    edit , Electric only.
  • So, in essence, ML should ideally break the percentages down for individual fuels because the advice given for the 50% acceptable parameter in any deal on offer currently is unhelpful for everyone that isn't on dual fuel.

There are also other scenarios where the single percentage is wrong. For a high gas/low electricity user the percentage will be wrong.

Only way to go is really to do your own calculations, the % figure Martin is giving is just saying for an average user the deal looks reasonable, you need to do your own homework for your usage.
  • Ok, so what's the potential unit rate / SC for electric come October? Perhaps that helps me better. Honestly though, I might just ride out the SVR for electric for now, gas is sorted and that will be the biggy.

Sorry, I've edited my table in the original post here but the screenshot shared in this thread obviously won't update!

    Q4 2022 Q1 2023
    Gas SC £ /yr 100 100
    12000kWh gas £ 1700.34 1777.81
    Gas /kWh p 14.17 14.82

    Elec SC £ /yr 170 170
    2900kWh elec £ 1274.2 1315.89
    Elec /kWh p 43.94 45.38

  • Ok thanks. So the fix on Eon Next V16 isn't worth it then....it's 44.79p/kwh and I'd be paying an extra £101 over the next three months as well....I rest my case, for now at least.

Not sure whether to mention yet another complication but you still don't really know since the capped unit rates will actually vary between regions.

I understand that, should be too much different though.
