British Gas - Can't Set Up Direct Debit

I must be doing something wrong but I want to set up DD on the British Gas website.  To do this, I need to submit meter readings - but when I click on the Submit Reading link, I'm told I have a smart meter & readings are done automatically?

Please don't tell me I have to join their infernal chat to do it....  Whatever I seem to do there seems to disappear into the ether anyway :-(

On your BG online account is there an option to change tariff.?

Changing to DD may not be a good choice if you are on a good fix at the moment - changing tariffs to get a DD one will mean you loose that good fix.
