Economy 7 meter

Our meter which sets the times for the switching on & off for E7 has changed it’s time settings, maybe from power cuts or is faulty. Who is responsible for this meter, the energy supplier or elec distributor?

Your energy supplier is responsible for the meter.
They may show little interest in dealing with it though unless you want it replaced with a smart meter.

As MWT says, it's your supplier.
Sometimes these changes work to your advantage. What were your old E7 times and what are your new ones?

Who is your supplier? For example BG has issues with smart meter and E7 tariffs.

Pretty good times if you are home all day and actually not bad if you don't. That's a nice toasty warm house to arrive home to

Do OutFox the Market actually do an E7 tariff? I know the more recent fixes don't differentiate between the day and the night rate - or at least they didn't when I last looked.

What sort of storage heaters do you have? Old style "box of bricks" ones or the more modern type with output setting via temperature and high heat retention through better insulation?  If the older style ones and they simply come on and start charging when the E7 circuit kicks in and goes off when it switches back to day rate, then you may not be so badly off...you'd need to make sure your immersion heater timer was set correctly and it was only charging on the cheap rate, but that's easy done (and it may well be the same in that it only charges automatically on the "cheap" rate anyway.)

As referred to above by the way - if you DO go to a smart meter, be very cautious should you ever consider a switch to British Gas.
