Just as a comparison - a local farm shop sells milk via a vending machine. Currently it's £2 to buy a bottle and £1.30 for the milk. (up 10p from 2 years back). It's absolutely excellent milk so I've no problem at the price of £1.30 but have discovered other farmers have started to do the same with a price of £1.20. Happy to buy either depending on where I am driving to.
But, yes, it would be a surprise to be charged £3.30 for the first bottle and that would look very expensive. It's only because we are weekly customers that the price is more affordable.
fyi - OH is over the moon as some locations also have syrup you can add to the bottle so can have chocolate or strawberry or salted caramel (wth?) milk if you so desire.

We had 500ml of Amber Rye Red Ale 5.0% £6.16 & same size in a Cherry Ale, though receipt says Strawberry Sundae Sour 5.0% £5.90 (that was price of Cherry stuff).
Also 500ml, 2 x £5.00 listed as "Growler"! I expect I looked surprised at the total £17.06, & the first I heard of the bottle charge.
Looks like small franchise so I wish them success, but they're not having any more of my money & they can keep the bottle refund.
Are you sure it wasn't sold by the litre though?
The press release mentions £5.90 to £8.20 per litre.
Also the image in the press release shows the price of 1L and 2L refillable growlers and also the price of 440ml cans at £3.
Asda becomes first UK supermarket to launch draught beer concept
Mind you, they had enough trouble, & took long enough, to get 2 bottles filled, maybe the canning proved too much of a challenge!
If memory serves me well, each ale on the board had 3 prices linked to the 3 sizes each one could come in. Not sure it's going to do well, no customers even looking at it when we bought ours, & none when I returned for bottle refund.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.1 -
Quick update: 2nd visit to Asda for other reasons so checked Craft on Draft while there. Mid morning, mid week but no staff member around. I asked Asda employee but they knew nothing.
Sent a complaint to Asda, they've partnered with this organisation & advertising it, suggested they either ensure bottle refunds can be processed or take refunding on themselves.
They've sent me a £5 Asda voucher valid for 2 years. Result - but not great for Craft on Draft!Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.1 -
Well the thing is they don't want you to return the bottles - they want you to keep them and reuse them. Returning the bottle means you have decided never to buy from there again. Therefore if everyone is doing that, they are finished anyway. So it won't really be a priority for them.1

At those prices, I’ll stick to local Jail Ale from Dartmoor Brewery or Skinners Cornish Knocker… available from all good supermarkets and reasonably priced at £1.60-£2.00 a bottle (price includes the bottle 🤣)I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂1

For the £13 the OP spent on 2 x 500ml bottles, you can get 12 bottles from Costco. A bit more MSE like !0

Buying the dirt cheap version of everything isn't "saving money". If it tastes foul and is 2.5% alcohol you're probably being even more "MSE" by buying cheap fortified wine.0 -

Badger Ales Dorset Dozen, 12 x 500ml | Costco UK
You can get 8X London Pride for about £10 as well.
I think the normal prices are about 10% higher but they always seem to be on offer.0 -
