Roof bars without roof rails

Hi all,

I have a 2021 Passat saloon (71 plate) without roof rails. It's a company car so I did not have a choice.

I would like to fit roof bars for a roof box. 

Any advice on what product? Are roof bars always made for a specific car or is there a universal product for any car without rails?

Due to the vastly varying ways that roof bars need to fit then a specific set of roof bars for you vehicle is a better idea.

If I were you my 1st port of call would be my local vw dealer. if I'm fitting something to the roof of my car with the intention of driving it around, I do not want something from halfords or god knows where.. no way.

First port of call is the manual.  I had a car with no rails, but it had hidden fixings in a roof channel.  Local car spares did the correct bars and fixings.

Hundreds of thousands of people use Halfords roof racks and boxes for millions of miles without problems. There's even a reasonable chance it's the same bars a VW dealer would supply, with a different label, for half the price.

Open any door and look p at the surround for a screw. 

 Our Mondeo and Focus both have these to attach roof bars to. Pretty sure we just bought universal bars, but similar to these and attach the same way.
