Central heating cost

Apologies, not a “fair quote” question, but looking to find out how much roughly I should be looking to pay to install central heating in a 2 up 2 down mid terrace Victorian house? Want a combi boiler too. There is gas supply to the property.
Buying the house which has no central heating, so will be looking to install asap.
Thanks!

where you are in the country will affect the cost.
How long do you expect to be in the house? When the boiler needs replaced (~15 years?) you quite possibly won't be allowed to but have to go heatpump so size all the radiators & pipework accordingly (if you are in England the new standards just in should enforce that) & you may wish to think again about not having a hot water tank i.e going combi rather than system..0 -
Thank you @BUFF ! I am in England (SE). Looking to stay in the house max 10 years and I think would like to go for the combi boiler for now, good point re proofing for the future.Would you have any idea how much it may all cost? The figures I saw online range from £5 to £10k so it’s obviously a large difference. If it’s the lower mark I may be able to do it before this winter, otherwise will need to save up and freeze my socks off this year!0

SE is obviously a dearer part of the country (esp. near London) for labour. Costs wll vary depending upon exactly what you choose to have fitted & how easy/hard it is to install in that particular house (e.g. in my Edwardian terrace I have a solum where installers can work under the floor relatively easily whereas many may not). You really need to get some quotes from local installers but I certainly would allow £5K. If it is much more than that perhaps you could add it to your mortgage or get a cheapish (3.5%) loan?0

Not much more than a gas boiler. Although I suspect installers will charge a premium for fitting one. Running costs will also be higher than a gas boiler, and it will trash your EPC until such time as they fix the system..But before installing any heating system, insulate the walls & loft as best you can and plug all those nasty little draughts. New windows & doors should also be on your list unless the existing ones are in good condition. The less heat you have to put in means lower energy bills.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
