Hopefully this is ok to post here.
My husband and I drove down to London this week from the north west. We’ve done this once before and are aware of the ULEZ charge. I chose a route on google maps to avoid the ULEZ but unfortunately the was an issue with maps and it took us the wrong way and into the ULEZ. We got off the M4 and went through the ULEZ to TW10 5HP (Richmond park). We then drove to our hotel TW8 9AD which I chose because it was out of the ULEZ.
Our car was left at this postcode Wednesday and Thursday night. We drove him Friday afternoon.
There’s signs to tell you when you enter the zone but not when you leave!?
Am I right in thinking we only need to pay for one day??
Thanks in advance.

You don't pay for days when your car wasn't in the zone, if that's your question.0

You pay only for days you drive in the zone. So the first day only: Wednesday, if your vehicle is non-compliant.No free lunch, and no free laptop1

Your best bet is to set up an account with them and dartford crossing etc.
If you use it you get billed, My friend got a dartford crossing fine.
He was lucky they allow you to pay the original charge for a first offence.
Im lucky I’ve got a euro 6 car, registered as disabled.
Dartford crossing free.
Congestion charge £10 for 3 years if renewed when your new badge arrives.0 -
I'm currently in email exchange with TFL over their charge of £300 per day to drive my car transporter into ULEZ. Its a gross weight of 3.5ton so it's not a HGV but still they say I must pay. At a stroke I've lost millions of customers within the M25 and my vehicle is worthless. I'm tempted to issue an invoice to TFL for the cost of my vehicle. Ironically the new car I delivered into London last week was compliant but the delivery is not! It seems that London is now run by a dictatorship that affects everyone in the UK and not just Londoners. Other cities? £9 to £12 per day.0

If so, the charge should be £12.50:

If the transporter is greater than 3.5 ton gross weight, the LEZ applies instead of ULEZ. LEZ is not new nor recently expanded.2
