How secure is Amazon Pay - details shared

Hi, I was going to buy some supplements from Sealions website and had the choice of using Amazon Pay or Shop Pay.  I woul rather use Paypal, but that was not there.  I had never used Amazon Pay, but on 'googling' I seem to be able to use it as I was an Amazon customer.  However, when I clicked on the link, a list of my family members and friends appeared, along with their addresses.  These were people I had sent gifts to through Amazon!  I had never used Sealions before and it unnerved me and I did not continue with my order.  I then bought the same item going through the Amazon site instead.   It has certainly put me off using Amazon Pay as well.  Has anyone else experienced this and how secure are my details, or rather the details of my family and friends.

The link to Amazon Pay is a link to the Amazon systems, so has access to your Amazon data.
Sealions should have no access to this, apart from the delivery address you choose to pass through when you complete the purchase.

IIRC PayPal does the same, and when you click the PayPal button, you are redirected to PayPal, and your PayPal details (including previous addresses) are shown for you to choose from.

Yepp. Pay attention to the address bar in your browser (or the pop up that opens if one does). You'll note that you leave the website and do the actual paying through Amazon/PayPal/Google Pay (or whatever). Behind the scenes the external payment provider sends a signal to the merchant's website informing them the payment has been taken so they can create the order etc; but it won't have any sensitive information other than the addresses you have specified for delivery/billing.
