I only use the free or .99p trials and have never had a problem with cancelling. There’s always going to be the odd glitch with a system this big but I wouldn’t say it was ubiquitous. And Amazon customer service are pretty good as a rule. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3 -
Thanks all, did take the offer as checked and the pan set I have wanted was best price seen and been watching price for months. Am going to look at prime tv for few days then cancel next week. ( just to check it out ) have sky netflix and maybe it will give me insight if every make the move away from sky0

Hubby did the free trial the other week for the Le Mans 24 and forgot to cancel it gggrrr hubby! So we had Prime for 1 month. I found things to watch but only one season and that was it, then they had cancelled the next season! My hubby cancelled Prime the day the first £7.99 went out in June and had a confirmation email to confirm cancellation and guess what, they have taken another £7.99 yesterday!
In these days of instant gratification I have to say the free same day and next day delivery is useful. Whilst it is "free" some items will have non-prime sellers who sell the item cheaper and so if you are "money saving" and its not a time sensitive order you need to be careful but that's the same with any shopping you do.
Personally PrimeTV is a reasonable secondary benefit, though annoying that its very limited when overseas and ExpressVPN doesn't help, whereas the other benefits are things that we use only occasionally.1 -

I LOVE Amazon Prime and have had it for years.
I have nine Kindles and I can order in seconds, with free next day delivery. It gets me out of a hole for almost missed birthdays, and last year I watched over 300 movies/TV shows including Picard, Without A Trace, US Open tennis, rugby, The Penguins of Madagascar cartoons, etc etc. Amazon isn't always the cheapest for goods, but it does pretty well. Husband whinged at me late yesterday that he had run out of Olbas and it was here by 3pm.
For new movies, I check the Amazon Prime and Chili Cnema prices. Sometimes Amazon is cheaper or free, sometimes not.
