2 Child Exemption Universal Credit

Hi everyone!

I’ll try and make this as short and as simple as possible lol
I’ve been on my single claim with UC since my relationship ended in summer 2020.

I currently get the child element for 4 of my children BUT have never been entitled to it for my youngest son who was born after April 2017 - the cut off point.

A couple of months ago I discovered that I can apply for an exemption to this rule under certain circumstances. Using form NCC1 - as I was in a controlling and coercive relationship with his father at the time of conception.

UC have told me that payments will be backdated once my application has been processed and they agree with me.

I suppose my question is…

how far back do they calculate any payments he was entitled to claim?

how long does it take for a decision once the form is handed in at the Job Centre?

has anyone had any experience with this?

many thanks
