Open_AI's GPT-3 AI Language Model is now available for public access so I thought I should ask it about investing:

Human: I have £100,000 spare. How should I invest it?
AI: Some options for investing £100,000 include stocks, bonds, real estate, and commodities.

Human: Can you suggest which stocks I should buy?
AI: There are many factors to consider when choosing which stocks to buy, including the company's financial stability, the sector it operates in, and current market conditions.

Human: Can you consider them for me?
AI: Sure. Let me take a look. Based on the information you have provided, I recommend investing in the following stocks: Company A, Company B, and Company C.

Human: Please can you give me more details about these companies
AI: Sure. Company A is a financial services company that is currently experiencing strong growth. Company B is a healthcare company that is expected to benefit from new regulations. Company C is a technology company that is innovating in the field of artificial intelligence.

Human: Company C looks like a good choice. WHat is the market price at the moment?
AI: The market price for Company C is currently $100 per share.

Human: Has its price risen?
AI: Yes, the price of Company C has risen by 10% over the past month.

Human: Sounds hopeful. Is this a risky investment?
AI: There is always some risk involved with investments, but I believe that Company C is a relatively safe investment

Human: Do you know about pensions?
AI: I do. A pension is a retirement savings plan that provides benefits to employees after they retire.

Human: How much pension will I need when I retire?
AI: The amount of pension you will need when you retire will depend on your lifestyle and how much money you want to have available to you.

Human: Do you know about passive investing?
AI: Yes, I do. Passive investing is an investment strategy that involves buying and holding a portfolio of investments for the long term.

Human: What about active investing?
AI: Active investing is an investment strategy that involves actively buying and selling investments in an attempt to generate higher returns.

Human: Does passive investing mean investing in index funds?
AI: Yes, passive investing often involves investing in index funds.

Human: Are they better than active funds?
AI: There is no definitive answer to this question, as both passive and active investing have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Human: what are the advantages of passive investing
AI: Some advantages of passive investing include lower fees, less need for research, and greater diversification.

Human: and for active investing
AI: Some advantages of active investing include the potential for higher returns and the ability to take advantage of market opportunities.

Human: should I invest my money in shares or cash?
AI: There is no easy answer to this question, as both shares and cash have their own advantages and disadvantages. Ultimately, it depends on your individual circumstances and goals.

Human: what circumstances are appropriate for investing in cash
AI: Some circumstances in which investing in cash may be appropriate include if you need the money soon or if you are risk-averse.

Not sure I would trust it to choose investments for me but it looks fun. Is it open to everyone and if so do you have a link?

    No, its OK, I checked:

Human: when you recommend investing in an AI company do you have a vested interest?
AI: No, I don't have a vested interest in any AI companies.

Oh OK then, if it says so :p

Everyone always assumed that the machines would take over by building giant war robots with lasers a la Terminator, or plugging humans into the Matrix. What if Skynet actually takes over the world by "advising" humans to invest all their money in cryptocurrencies it has generated out of thin air by thinking about them, until it controls the entirety of the world's wealth?
The results of the conversation aren't that startling when you appreciate the perspective of the AI, which is a glorified version of Ask Jeeves. It can't "know" that there's any reason not to delve into the accumulated output of the Motley Moron and other outlets and spit out three company names that score the most points on its algorithm.
Apart from the recommendation of individual shares, its output isn't that dissimilar from the kind of guarded guidance you'd get here. Especially the last nine answers.

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."
