Shawcross easy access account 1.4%

Up until a couple of days ago this was on Martin's list of the best easy access accounts, but is now not there. Yet if I go directly to the Shawcross site it seems to be still available. I was planning to apply.
Does anyone know why MSE would no longer feature it? I am unfamiliar with having lump sums to invest etc.

Presumably you mean Shawbrook ? While that might seem a bit pedantic, it's important to get names right to avoid getting scammed !
MSE only feature the top-paying accounts and, currently, Shawbrook would be equal 5th with Secure Trust Bank who are offering an identical account (1.4% with a £1000 minimum balance). Zopa offer the same rate but are higher in the table due to their £1 minimum balance being less restrictive.
I wouldn't read anything into why Shawbrook are no longer featured - they're simply (only just) off the bottom of the table.

Oops yes, Shawbrook!
Thanks for your help. I wondered if it meant it was about to be pulled or something.0 -
No, that rate has only recently increased. In general, unlike some other types of account, Easy Access accounts don't tend to get pulled completely.Annabee said:Oops yes, Shawbrook!

There are other comparison sites which offer more comprehensive lists than MSE (like Moneyfacts, for example) where Shawbrook are still listed...

I considered Shawbrook but when I went on to FCA site to research them I didn’t like the information I found! So didn’t go ahead with them.0

Did you research the real Shawbrook, or the scammers that cloned Shawbrook a few years back?Archer9 said:I considered Shawbrook but when I went on to FCA site to research them I didn’t like the information I found! So didn’t go ahead with them.
Shawbrook are fine. Nothing to worry about. Provide the product/s meet your needs, of course...1
