I think anyone that has spent even 5 minutes looking into these hairdryers would have known this was a fake without needing to buy it.

As background, my partner wants an airwrap, so I occassionally browse them in case I might treat her.

The product is usually sold for around £350-£450. As it is a highly desired product, resell prices aren't that much different, with some of the more exclusive colours (prussian blue) I've seen sold for £600. Even used airwraps are going for £300+.

At the same time, you'll commonly find sketchy profiles selling 'airwraps' new for £150 or less.

I just find it unbelievable that someone could buy a product for less than half the usual RRP on 'discount-headphones.com' without suspecting that it's counterfeit or without doing any research... surely you're not spending several hundred on a hairdryer without any due diligence. I mean look at their trustpilot... https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/discount-headphones.com - they even have a 'We’ve detected a number of fake reviews for this company and we’ve removed them.' warning! Bear in mind of the 23% that rated them excellent, this may soon change when the product breaks after two months and they realise it's fake (very common).

It sucks the OP has bought a fake and I truely despise these types of websites, but the OP should have known better.

A seller's returns T&Cs are not a get-out for fake and faulty items.

I completely agree and absolutely recommend that the OP presses the retailer as far as possible on this, and even further if required - the wording on their product page of "The product is provided with six months warranty and supplied in new sealed packaging due to the nature of the this statement all products should be purchased as discount headphones brand and not as any other third party brand" is very deliberate, which may be worth bringing to trading standards attention. Clearly retailers like this are the issue.

But my point is that this was an entirely predictable and preventable situation the OP has put themselves in.

Warranty Claims (if applicable) If your order is over 30 days and requires a warranty claim then this must be emailed to sales@disocunt-headphones.com and and upon return you must include the return form enclosed within the return package.

    Indeed....

I genuinely can't make out what they are trying to do  there.  It seems to be trying to cover their back for the fact that what they send out isn't the original brand at all, but a copy, but I am pretty sure if the main text describes it as a "Dyson hairdryer" you can't just put in a disclaimer in the terms and conditions that it might not be Dyson after all.  Maybe it works for them sometimes, who knows.
