Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's a fine start here, going to be a nice day I think.I've been awake since ridiculous o' clock and finally gave in and got up at 5am, so I'm tired before I've even started the day!I wish I could sleep like my Dh, on the few occasions when he needs to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night he says he's had a "bad night"!Anyway we've got Dgs with us till mid afternoon, so he'll keep me wide awake. Dd will hand him over, I'll meet her at school when she's taking Dgd.Dh wasn't well yesterday but he picked up through the day and was ok by tea time.I just did housework yesterday, the usual stuff.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today, take care folks.13

Morning All
An unexpected glorious day yesterday so I treated the rest of the decking, glad that's done. Also sanded and oiled the kitchen worktops, will give them one last coat later, they should be nice and dry by Monday (I'm away for the weekend) and I can get everything back. The kitchen is a bit of a mess but it was a job very overdue.
A dip in the loch this morning then I'll take the neighbour's dog out, she was excited to go for a walk yesterday, I don't think the teenagers have been taking her very far. Her adults are back this afternoon.
Hope your DH is feeling better today Scarlett.
Enjoy your breakfast Gers.
Hoping the poorlies are recovering well.
Your job has just got very interesting Coxy!
It's looking a bit gloomy out this morning, glad I got the washing dried outside yesterday, the ironing has just been done.
Happy Friday, take care. XX12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. I am envious of your yummy hotel breakfast!
Yesterday was glorious, summer with us at last! I sat out reading for a little while and got too hot!! I wasn't complaining though I might be next week when we are forecast 28 deg!! Never happy!
I am tripping out today, much more enjoyable than a Friday Tidy! I don't know where we will end up but lunch 'n wine will be involved.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning again. Breakfast done, this wee hotel is fully booked, it's so good to see it busy again. I'm in a different room from my usual one so got a little 'lost' on my way back 😀 it's only two parallel corridors with a connecting middle bit, like an H. On the good side I found the complimentary ice-cream and ice machine. 🎉 The hotel has little home made cakes near reception, had one last night, so finding the other stuff was even more lovely.Yesterday was a glorious day in Glasgow. Wall to wall sunshine and hotter than I've felt since 2020, definitely 'taps off' for the menfolk.
The matinee of Cluedo was better than I expected even if it was a very cheesy and mannered farce ( in the old meaning). The acting was very good, some over-egged scenes though most enjoyable. Coming out afterwards I encountered groups of people after their graduation ceremony, all posing in their gowns with proud parents / family with huge beams. And then, small thrill, there was the new Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, standing outside next to a sign saying 'twinned with Gallifrey' on the wall of the Conservatoire. He'd been given a honorary doctorate.Today I have an appointment at 11am and then meeting my late DM's crossword friend for a leisurely lunch. No idea about later. The weather isn't a lovely as yesterday with rain threatened for the afternoon. I may end up at the cinema again.Nelski - great to hear that your dental appointment was so positiveCoxy - oh to be a fly on some Westminster walls. 😀 My ex-MP friend has been sending me a series of emojis, no words. He's very discreet, damnit!Camelot - well done on finishing the decking in the heat.DP1 - sorry to hear that you're still not 100%, please keep on taking things easy.I hope that everyone has good weather. 🌞 Happy Friday to all.12 -
Well....that was an interesting day yesterday! I was listening/watching the BBC live practically all day. Colleagues also completely hooked so I didn't feel too bad! We have a new minister for health who has been briefed but who knows if they will stay on in the job once there's a new leader. DH and I stayed up for Question Time which was also a good watch but meant a late night. I went for a shorter run this morning as was so tired.
Last day at work for us as we fly to Cyprus tomorrow for two weeks. Cannot wait.
Your Glasgow stay sounds lovely Gers - and how exciting to see Ncuti Gatwa!
Enjoy your time away Camelot
Have a lovely lunch out TA
Hope all the poorlies are doing okay. Still lots of Covid about and Cyprus has just reintroduced masks in all indoor spaces and the need to show vaccine status at the door.
Have a good day all,

Morning all; lovely and sunny here.
Gers: great to read you're enjoying my favourite Glasgow hotel, although I'm pretty sure it didn't have ice cream for guests when I stayed there
Today I'm meant to be meeting DD for a joint make up trial for her wedding. She was keen not to cancel yesterday, as she would find it hard to rearrange because of work, so I'll pop upstairs in a minute to do a LFT and see what the result is.
Yesterday I went for a 3 mile geocaching walk somewhere about an hour away and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The weather was just right for walking whereas today already looks too hot. Treated myself to a bacon roll and cup of tea from a bakery when I'd finished and sat on a nearby bench.
Off to make more tea. Have a good day everyone.12 -
Morning! SUnny! Did the compost, now need to fill the bin again to get more, will do the top soil after. Tried starting the car yesterday, flat battery, so that's been on charge all night, I'll refit it in a bit and take it for a wash. There are so many cobwebs on it. Went to the DIY shop, got a couple of reduced to 50p plants, some eyelets and a new drill. Mine has that metal smell when I use it now which means the motor is on it's way out and the design means I can't replace the motor. I got an upgrade in make for the same price thanks to a sale. Need to find soem massive tissue paper so i can trace a pattern. All the sizes are printed on normal paper but that's not going do well for cutting out, plus I don't want to get rid of all the sizes in the diet is spectacularly successful and I need much smaller tops in the future
here's hoping...And we didn't make it to OHs mums for tea, she's got covid, so I'll check in on her in a bit, see how she is.Nels, great dentist news! TA, enjoy your day out! dp1, hope your long covid decides it needs to be shorter...Gers, I know a few people who would jealous of you seeing the Doctor
Coxy, you're jetting off when it's going to get more interesting? best idea really, it'll be done and dusted hopefully when you get back...Happy time away! WL, hope it's negative! Take care today folks, including the mia and the unwell...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday was lovely here too and we have a good forecast for the weekend. Just before I left for work I had an email from KLM changing my flight for when I come home from visiting DD in August. They had changed it to the day before, arriving back at Edinburgh late so I would have had to stay over. So I was on the phone for ages after work - I was cut off twice - and finally arranged to fly back to Newcastle instead on my original date. I live the same distance from both Edinburgh and Newcastle so can use either. The flight was 400 euros more than my original booking but changed free of charge. I prefer flying back to Newcastle so worked out well.
I won't be on over the weekend as I'm going on my holiday 5 minutes up the road with DD and little one...I'm looking forward to it! DD has lots of activities booked and little one will love us all being together. They're staying 3 nights but I'm going to come home on Sunday night to have a decent sleep!
Need to go to shop for a couple of things this morning and then to do dads banking.
Hope everyone has a good day
Gers - enjoy being in Glasgow
Coxy - enjoy Cyprus
Take care x

Morning all
Looks to be a lovely day here nice and sunny and bright, the wm is on and there is another two loads at least to go in after.
Im taking mum for a hospital appointment this morning, she has to have a jab in her eye every month
she said its not painful just uncomfortable, bless her.
I will collect the shopping on my way back as its very close to the hospital, and then take the dogs out for a walk.
Dinner tonight will be chicken saganaki with some roasted veg cous cous, we will eat in the garden which we have been doing all week, need to make the most of this weather !
Coxy have a great holiday xxx
Have good days all xxx11 -
Hello all from a very sunny and hot SE Wales 😎
DGD is here again today, she's a bit better but is still off her food so I know she's not 100% as normally she will eat everything and the dog, if we had one 😂
I have already stripped the bed and put a wash of towels and the bathroom mats in the wm, the bedding will go in next. I'll make the bed later, probably when the sun moves away from the bedroom. DGD and Mr Fix It are making a horsey movie today as she's brought up some of her Schleich stuff to play with. All I can hear is "Action !" and "move it forward a bit so it's in shot", I don't know which one of them is enjoying it more 🤣
Gers a complimentary ice cream machine and hm cakes ! now that's something like a hotel. Have a good visit with DM's crossword friend. Wow fancy seeing the new Doctor, hope he's a good one.
TA What ! no Friday Tidy ? I enjoy your lunch.
Scarlet I shall send the sandman out to you tonight, hugs.
Camelot ironing what's that ? 😁 Well done on finishing the decking and the worktops, my you are a busy bee.
Coxy enjoy your visit to Cyprus
Wicked Lady fingers crossed for a negative result and then getting the make up trial.
taff well done on the smaller tops, I've lost a measly 1lb this week, himself has lost 6lb ! 🤨 Mr Fix It will be jealous of your new drill, even though he has lots quite a few.
dp1 enjoy your holiday even if it is only 5 mins away, staying anywhere different is a holiday. I bet little one will be delighted too !
Right the wm has finished so I'll put in the bedding and hang the other load out.
Take care all
