Lease Extension - does it need to be registered with the Land Registry

I found the original Land Registry document the other day when I was looking at my paid up mortgage file. The original lease details were recorded on it. I extended the lease a few years ago and wondered if it had to be notified to the Land Registry. The value was around £23k.

Does anyone know the answer?

    Yes - a lease extension needs to be registered with Land Registry.

    Presumably you had a solicitor who dealt with the lease extension, so they should have dealt with the registration.

    @eddddy Thanks for replying.

    Yes, I did use a solicitor and he may have registered it but there is nothing noted in the documentation I have. Now I now it's required I shall either check with the Registry or find the Solicitor who has moved since he extended the lease.
    Thanks again.

    You should be able to check directly on the registry. You may need to access the documentation using Form OC2, rather than just the register entry itself.

    Panic over, Mr Mannering.

    The solicitor confirmed that the extension was registered and is sending me confirmation in the next week.

    Thank you @ED@eddddy and @pr@princeofpounds for your help.
