Cannot find electricity meter in student flat

No keys, and the cupboards have a small panel on them that’s screwed shut - or at least that’s what it looked like. I know from other people in the building that their meters are inside their flat. I’m utterly baffled why my daughter’s isn’t.Smober since 05/12/2008 :j

Has the flat got an electricity mains board / consumer unit? The meter won't be too far from that.

Not that I’ve seen! I’ve looked in cupboards, behind a wardrobe, in the cupboard where the boiler lives (gas meters are in the basement, found that!). I even looked at every single meter in the basement to confirm to myself that they were all gasSmober since 05/12/2008 :j

Exactly! I’m raging
There’s no way she’s going forward with estimates because no one has wants to take responsibility for where a meter is.

I ve seen a few electric meters up behind the ceiling tiles .You probably have nt got a loft but there will be a gap enough to fit a meter behind a ceiling tile.look for one which looks as if its moveable if you have ceiling tiles Also behind a picture hanging on the wall had me and the new occupier stumped when we both searched for it .
Finding the consumer unit is slightly more important , you don t want something tripping a relay losing power .Once you find that then as the other poster said the meter may be with it..Check the other flat dwellers where their consumer unit is1 -
Can't you ask the landlord? The person who will be taking money but doesn't appear to have provided any details?
I live in a flat, one of only two in the building and my electricity meter is outside, under the bathroom window, opened by one of those blue triangular keys mentioned by someone else.
Does it have a smart meter? The landlord will tell you, surely? Or even the energy company. I'd also want a proper meter reading, as QrizB says above. 'Estimated' is no good for purposes of moving out/moving in.Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Hi everyone
Seeking advice as to what to do here! Daughter picked up keys for student studio flat, which is in a Georgian town house. The gas meters are in the basement. I have no idea where the electricity meter is, and I’ve hunted everywhere. I know the location in the other flats, but not for my daughter’s![...]I’ve been on to the letting agent, and been passed around a bit - they said they’d contact the landlord. Spoke to someone today, who said that the landlord wouldn’t know, and that they (as agents) have never been involved with the bills. They said to contact the provider the previous tenant used. I contacted the provider. They said it’s nothing to do with them, that they can’t send people out to search homes for a meter, and it’s legally the landlord’s responsibility.[...]
Re the bit in bold - that is just nonsense from the letting agent. The landlord is responsible and absolutely should know. If they are subcontracting their responsibility to the letting agent, then the agent needs to do some bloody legwork - that's what they are paid for. Don't put up with being brushed off on this issue.

It is not unusual for a fuse board to be outside a flat in a cupboard either where the electricity comes into the building it or adjacent to the flat.
It's sounding more like the cupboards you have seen could have a fuse board and meter in them.1 -
Have you looked in all kitchen cupboards?
Not unheard of for meters to be hidden in base units and barely accessible.
