Hi everyone,
I just bought a new HP Deskjet 4122E printer from Argos recently with some ink,
I really like the printer found it very easy to set up & use with my MacBook IPad IPhone etc

Like that it can scan/copy documents shame it don’t have double sided printing but hay ho can manually do it,
it came with a free 6 month trail of HP instant ink but once it ends I am not sure it’s worth keeping,
The main things I will be printing each month is
Bank/Credit Card/Savings account Statements
Bank/Credit Card/Savings account letters
the odd print at home football ticket
or I will just copy all my statements/letters
so not sure the service is any good, anyone used it before?

I've used it for years on the 50 page plan (occasionally upped this for a month when kids were doing uni stuff). I've never had much luck with remanufactured cartridges quality wise, and the last genuine cartridges I paid a lot for didn't last anywhere near as long as I expected. As it's free for 6 months, gives you time to see if it works for you. You can roll unused pages for a month too, and cancel with 1 months notice anyway. I've never once had any issues receiving cartridges in time, and once when I received a faulty one, a few mins on HP chat got me a new one sent out.0

Working just fine w/ my (lightly-used) Deskjet, occasionally up the ppm when doing one-off hundred page + jobs. Had one cartridge fail when half-full, replaced quickly after chat w/ support.0

Thanks for the replies will try it for 6 months on 1,500 page service then see how much I print then go from there0

I use the 50-page deal... price has gone up 50% this year though... from £2 to £3.
It should be relatively straightforward to work out whether it's a good deal for you.
The free plan is 10 pages a month. If you need more, then the next cheapest is £36 a month. Is that cheaper than buying 1-2 print cartridges a year for your printer?

Not seeing a free plan, cheapest is 10 a month for 99p. Next level is £36/year (actually £2.99/mth) for 50 pages/mth.bazman86 said:

HP stopped the free plan for new customers/new printers a few years back.bazman86 said:I use the 50-page deal... price has gone up 50% this year though... from £2 to £3.

Be careful with this and make sure you read the terms and conditions. The last time I had a free 6 month offer, it was capped at a certain limit (I think it was £84 at that time). But that limit was calculated as 100 pages a month at the going rate, so if you chose a higher number of pages a month, the free trial ran out sooner. Don’t know whether this is still the case, but if it is, your free trial could run out in a month!GTR_King said:Thanks for the replies will try it for 6 months on 1,500 page service then see how much I print then go from thereNorthern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

You can also get a free month added if an hp instant ink account holder gives you a code to use as you set up instant ink. I have one if you wanted one.0
