  • Latest issue number is 21. At least issues 18, 19 and 20 going up. Don't know about earlier ones

I've just had an email from OakNorth stating that the interest rate on my 90-day notice account (issue 18) will be going from 2.02% to 2.26% from 1st Sept, which will bring it in-line with the current available issue (issue 21).

Good to see OakNorth passing on interest rate rises to older accounts, albeit with a delay of a few weeks compared to the current issue at that higher rate.

    (sorry - cross-posted with the above :) )

Begs the question why they created the new issues in the first place if they have raised them all.

OakNorth 90 day rate now up to 2.26%. But this time they are also increasing on older issues if you are prepared to wait until 1st September
Nice timing for me! I have a 1 Year fix about to mature tomorrow ... guess where the proceeds are going  :)

Creating new issues essentially gives them different 'pots' so they can choose to increase the rates on all of them or increase rates on 1 or more of them depending on their business needs at the time, I guess.

Why wait for 1st September, just open issue 21 and transfer over. Admittedly you will have to wait a few extra days to get access. While doing this their server had a wobbly, wouldn’t let me withdraw, would not accept my password..All sorted now.

Looks like i need to secure message them and close the old accounts.

I make it someone with issue 20 would gain 8 pence per £10000 by opening a new issue 21 and transferring over compared with waiting. Ain't worth the bother

I couldn’t be  bothered to work it out to be honest. But to fire up a PC to tell me this probably cost more then 64p
