I use this
https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/smart-plug/tapo-p110/
On offer when I bough tit £6.99
Pros I already have TP link tapo smart plugs so easy to setup
Cons it's a plug so anything hard wired can't monitor it like the oven for example
It has been great measuring the true cost of
2 cups of tea in the kettle v induction hobTumble dryer on eco or full blastTV when left on and we fall asleepAnd many more2 -
Same as @MStty

additional Pro
- can be used also as smart plug, so useful later on
- phone application gives a lot of different information for long term measuring
Con
- there are concerns about what data is collected by TP-Link
Currently at £9.99, that is just £1 more than just the smart plug.
I also have, but don't use any longer
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08HWC1XTG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Pro
can be used without application
Con
complicated to use
hard to get to the information if the socket is in a hard to get to location

I bought one of these on eBay for £11.99

There are plenty of other sellers with the same item so you might find it cheaper.
Pros. Pretty idiot proof. Plug it in, plug your appliance in and away you go. You can set the price per KWH but I haven't bothered with that as it doesn't take a rocket scientist to multiply the total of KWH by the 28p or whatever you're paying for it.
Cons. None I can think of.

I wonder if dieselgate and other law suits has made manufacturers reduce their claims on efficiency?0
