Raspberry Pi prices

I was looking around for a 4GB or 8GB Pi, and prices seem to be £150-200.

Looking on RS-Online, they are £55 for 4GB and £75 for 8GB, but with no stock until November. Are these roughly the correct prices, and the £150-200 is the premium being charged for people who want to jump the queue?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

At the moment my intention is to get started with a 2GB Pi, which seems to be at more normal price levels still. If I find I need more RAM, I will just have to pay the premium for immediate delivery.

Experiment with computer vision. One project is to make Rincewind's luggage and get it to follow me round.

I want something that will run python and opencv, and have a range of add ons that are easy to use. The Pi is a good choice, I think??

Probably scalpers - worked out the stock was running low and bought all the remaining ones.
