Car insurance renewal

I think i know the answer to this, but double checking.  I scratched a parked car while driving a few months ago, and was at fault of course.  The lady had a company car and it was fixed directly via them, they didn't claim via my insurance.  However, they did notify my insurer so it's showing as a notification even though they didn't claim anything. I assume I need to declare this with another company if I change at renewal?

yes - but be careful of the wording.
You have had an "accident/incident". You haven't had a claim or loss.
it's important to answer the questions correctly and if there is any doubt about what the questions mean then ask.

You absolutely have to tell the truth as this is on record.
    However there was no claim.

Thanks, will definitely check the wording and declare if needed.

If "they" notified then its likely the claim simply hasn't been concluded yet and it will ultimately be a claim on your policy. May be worth getting an update from your insurers before risking making a false declaration.

Coincidentally the insurers emailed me yesterday to say they had settled the claim/damages so it's now definitely a declarable claim.
