Advice needed

Hi, I hope this is allowed here. I'm not a registered charity but am trying to raise money for a family that I'm working with. I won't go in to specifics here in case it contravenes the rules but basically we need to try and fund the visa fees for him to bring his wife over from Uganda due ot him being seriously ill.
What I was wanting to get advice on is that I seem invisible! I posted the gofundme link on Facebook, contacted about 100 people on twittter who might be sympatheitc to this man's cause, and I didn't get a single comment or retweet back. It's so demoralising; I can't sleep and feel so stressed, and this man needs my help so desperately. Is @ing people on twitter a waste of time? Do generally just close their eyes to GFMs nowadays? Not sure if people on here will be able to give any answers but thought I'd try. If anyone knows of any charities that could possibly help this man, please let me know. Thanks.

Is the man who is a refugee / asylum seeker, either now or in the past? That would be my only immediate suggestion, contacting charities who work in that field.Signature removed for peace of mind0
