It’s just the same as any other illness now - how would you have covered a loss of wages if you’d been ill with something else?
Time to cash in savings if you’re struggling - it sucks, but we’re all in the same boat

Often with covid, you are not ill for the whole length of time you are infectious. So you have to make a decision whether to stay home or whether to go to work and risk infecting others. If you are secure financially, or at least can manage without income for a few days, you can afford to be more considerate of others. If you have no savings, no pay without working and no financial support network, your choices are much harder.

Hi, hasn't your husband been working in the NHS for very long? Because he should still be paid for time off sick whether or not the 'special scheme' has ended. He should check his contract of employment as terms and conditions of employment should now have reverted to that.

More people are getting covid again because they are going back to work too soon and it would definitely not be fair to any of your colleagues for either you or your husband to go back before either of you test negative at least.

What some people here are glibly suggesting is really not on. Hopefully your employers will be more sensible and will test you both before you're allowed to resume duties.

As I said, get your husband to check his employment contract and contact his HR manager to check his sick pay entitlement.

I'm due back Monday conditional on a negative result. I will be going back regardless of how I am feeling on the day or if I am actually physically fit to do so, I've no other option as over the next 10 days is when most of my bills come out and I need the money to pay them.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The NHS terms (at the moment) are basic sick pay for COVID only - SSP.
The special treatment was removed near the start of July.
