There isn't a simple answer as it depends on so many factors, including the destination, length of travel and most importantly the pre-existing illnesses. I had a heart attack 6 years ago, and my blood pressure is now perfectly under control but cover for the US was ten times the price of my partner!
Some companies to check out include Freespirit, Avanti, All Clear and Staysure. All get good reviews for the sale process but the reality is how they perform when you make a claim and that is not so easy to measure1 -
Is the traveller in good health? Staysure and Insureandgo are two I've looked at, and they provide cover for pre-existing conditions.
