Well had another injection on friday, last one tomorrow. Starting to see abit of a difference but not much.
Friday ran in and out of the shade at the alloment in the afternoon as DD2 had her PA over. Managed to finally gather in the golden beetroot seeds that we had let develop. We've always kept seeds back from peas and beans but this is the first time we've done other vegetables. Actually I tell a lie we've let swiss chard go to seed and just let it grow where it fell before. That plant however this year is taking its time producing seeds, still waiting for the celery and lettuce to seed.Golden beetroot makes wonderful risotto. I managed to collect some more blackerries as they were in the shade by the time I got to them.
Yesterday we went to dads for a bbq too be honest I wished it could of been cancelled as it was too hot even though we were in the shade. I took salad, potatoes and blackberry crumble bars. It was good to catch up with everyone. Dad was struggling with the heat but once it got cooler he felt alot better. Took a quick look in the summerhouse to see what needs sorting in there. Its full of stuff again alot not used or still not opened. At least its fairly clean in there Came out with several things he doesn't want but we or my sister could use. He keeps telling me to wait till he's dead and get a skip. Not sure if he just wants to save me the hassle at the moment or save him the hassle. I can think of nothing worse than having to sort through someones belongings when they've just passed away. I would be too busy grieving and dealing with DD2, so I've told him I would rather sort now. Plus it will mean we will know what mobilty equipement he has ( had alot connected to nan) for when his health gets worse. He will also be able to get his mobilty scooter in and out better. He has decidedd to sell his static caravan (too many memories) so we are going over in the next couple of weeks to empty it of what he wants, again whatever he doesn't want we can have. Hopefully it will be a fairly quick trip as he's kept on top of the cleaning. We'll have to take 2 cars as my sister wants the bench and we'll need to take my back seats out.
Friday sorted out home insurance and saved £43.
Today DD2 decided she wanted to change her bedroom around so the hubbster and her worked on it together and have done a fairly good job. Hoping she doesn't decided that she can't cope with the new set up.
Well off to get a drink, take care everyone.

Thanks SAVINGHOLMES.
Thought I'd pop on whilst I'm on hold (trying to book a day out with a friend and order to redeem the voucher you have to phone up).
Last night tried something I'd read about on one of the forums. So boiled the kettle and poured over our pasta, brought back to the boil for 1 minute and then turned it off. After 20 minutes serve up, I was pleasantly suprised that it was cooked and still warm. Saved gas and nobody complained that it wasn't cooked. Although the way DD2 hoovered it up I'd be suprised if she would of noticed, she didn't notice the peppers I'd add for extra fibre.
This morning I've prepared leek and potatoe soup and tomatoe and basil soup. Other than the water, leeks and stock cubes everything came from the allotment. Must remember to take mum and dad a portion each.
...............
Whoop whoop day out booked. Can't wait.

Interesting tip regarding the pasta, what type of pasta did you use?

It works with any type of pasta except long things like spaghetti @Mrs_Binxtoria - you don't really need to heat either. Put your pasta in a pyrex bowl, boil the kettle and pour over water, cover with a plate and wait 15 minutes ish. I sometimes do it to save me a hob ring, but obviously there might be more pressing reasons over the next few months.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Whoop whoop Miss Giddychops is home although looking more puffy (fat) than when she went. I have the same discussion with mum that the dog does not require breakfast and an evening meal and that is why she is fatter than when she went. I get the same reply of 'she's not fat, she puffy as she is very hairy and its just a slice of bread and butter'. No wonder the dog loves visiting her.Hopefully we'll get the extra weight off her in the next couple of weeks, knee willing.
Spent a wonderful hour sat with patio doors open, glass of wine and watched the rain coming down.So glad its rained, the plants were really starting to struggle, but the water butts are now full again. Although we nearly missed the fact that one wasn't filling as it had a blockage, anyway the hubbster fixed it so all is well in the rabbit household. The air smelt so fresh this morning.
Had my 6th injection the other day and I'm starting to notice a difference in energy levels hence giddychops returning home. Next one is in November. I bought some high strength turmeric and black pepper tablets the other day as apparently they act as anti inflammatory and my knee and hip could do with some help, so we'll see how that goes.
The alloment looked so much better for a good dowsing, the other day when i put some plants in I had to dig 3" down before the soil was wet. What was even better was not having to repeatdly walk up and down tothe pipe to get water, as the water butts had water in. I reckon we might have 3 days worth before we are up and down to the pipe again. Tomatoes are ripening well and the cucumbers are on overdrive. Yesterday I harvested 14 cucmbers, managed to palm 2 off onto another member, 2 to neighbours, the hubbster has taken a couple to work and dad has asked for one. We still have a glut as the previous day I had picked 6 and the day before 5. I did see a frog moving about the allotment which was nice to see.
Right best go as we are off to help dad this morning.

Allotment sounds great.

MRS BINXTORIA - the pasta was a spaghetti and I also did a gluten free penne, I've done it twice now .
I spoke too soon SAVINGHOLMES about energy levels I'm shattered today, I suspect its because Miss Giddychops is back and I'm walking her. However its a good tired rather than a draining, wading through treacle tired.
Yesterday after checking and then rechecking the bank statements we've been saving about £40 ish a month on food by eating mainly from the allotment, trashing around other supermarkets for bargins and y/s, so I've upped our debit for the energy bill. Although it will only give us a 2 month (beginning of Novemeber- our direct debit goes out the start of the month) buffer before we will probably need to up it again. By then our help to save accounts will finish and the money we've been saving each month will hopefully cover the hike. We've planted plenty of root vegetables, brassicas and squash for the winter, I'm currently buying in dried pulses that can be easily stored, I've premade meals and froze them, so hopefully these will see us through until just after the new year.. We accidently bought a single duvet last year, I've heard quite few people on the forum talking about teddy bear fleece duvet covers and how warm they are, so I might get one and we could use it when we are sat watching TV once DD2 has gone to bed and we turn the heating down..Just a thought.
I've set up a going out for cake fund jar in the dining room, so that all spare change can go into ready for when we go on holiday, added 3p today, as MR t says every little helps.
Been for a longer walk with Miss giddychops this morning and she's now sprawlled out on the dining room floor fast asleep.
Well best get moving as I've plenty of housework to do today before we go meet mum.

Thanks @merlinsbeard and @the_cross_rabbit I have cooked the pasta as described for tomorrow's lunch for work and it worked a treat. I shall certainly be doing this more often!3
