Re the socks in bed: do change them from your daysocks, as just keeping on the socks you wore during the day into your bed, is likely to cause athlete's foot.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5911

My daughter gave me a lovely wool/cashmere jumper that she'd managed to wash and shrink so I cut the arms off and added a few stitches to create a thumb hole. As the wool had almost felted there was no need to hem. Worth looking in charity shops for something suitable (I love the look of the turtle doves one but can't justify the price).
I don't often need socks on for bed but if I do I use the fluffy ones that most shops have now, they are super warm and wash and dry easily. I stopped buying slippers a while back too as I found they didn't help my feet (I can suffer from plantar fasciitis and need a decent arch support) and I tended to feel "shuffely" in them so instead I keep an eye out for a pair of suitable boots that become my indoor only winter boots, they make me feel more dressed too which helps when I'm indoors a lot. One pair normally lasts a good couple of years....this years came from the "everything's £1" charity shop, labelled as a size bigger than they are they were given away unused with the labels still on the bottom and they're fleecy lined so will be toasty warm. I always check a size up and down in shoes and see what fits.

That's something that l hadn't thought about. If I'm wearing thicker socks, then I might need to go up a size in slippers or indoor shoes. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I'm still a bit of a newbie at this but I'm learning.6

I wear much-larger sized socks to bed as when I wear my normal size, they get too tight. I think my feet swell a bit when I lie down. If I nap during the day, I sometimes take my socks off when I lie down especially in summer for the same reason (slight swelling). So I have night socks (nice and fluffy) and regular diabetic socks for in the daytime.5

Today, I did a trawl of the local charity shops. I bought 4 jumpers which cost £19.99. 3 were Damart and one still had its labels on and was brand new. The other was M&S Autograph range. All never or hardly used. They will be put away for when the colder weather arrives. I'm really pleased. The charity shops that I visited were very busy. It seems like people have woken up to the idea that they are good places to shop especially in these trying times.2
