Home emergency cover confusion!

Hi all
I have a home emergency cover policy that's up for renewal - the premium has shot up so I was looking for another provider, but nowhere seems to offer this any more. Every comparison site I look at directs me to full home insurance policies, is this just something that doesn't really exist separately any more and usually just gets tacked onto house insurance?

Its more often tacked onto home insurance as fairly often there is a back to back claim... HE to deal with the burst pipe gushing water out the wall and then Home to deal with the damage it caused after its fixed.

I think British Gas and Homeserve are the main ones that provide stand alone cover. However yes its also available through home insurance.

Depending on your insurer it may work out significantly cheaper to take it through home insurance e.g.

Aviva and Quotemehappy offer home emergency through homeserve however do not include replacement taps or the water main from meter to stopcock but you can take our a separate policy for around £1 a month with Homeserve (£30 excess) to cover this. They also dont do boiler services but again you can take our a separate policy for this or get a standlone service carried out.
