Ofgen operating as Industry Cartel price setter
Is just me thats a consumer regulator has become an Industry catel lobby group?
As far as I can despite only 19% of uk being generated from renewable that at best 50% availability. Most privers touting 100 renewable on thier tariffs. Also why is the standing being by "regulator"? The cables and pipes whilst expensive these capital expebditure funded from borrowing and interest rates not short yerm wholesale commodity prices. Seems Ofgem is not acting intet4sts of energy but acting ro support energy companies interests.

Governments of all colours decided many years ago that the cost of running and upgrading the Grid infrastructure would be added to consumer energy bills. The alternative would be to add the costs to general taxation.
Yes, it is true that suppliers are allowed to buy REGOs which gives them the right to claim that their energy is wholly green. There are 3 wholly renewable energy suppliers who are exempt from the Ofgem Cap because of the higher cost of investing in renewable energy.
A Grid is what it is. It is a matrix of wires and pipes that supplies energy to millions of connections. Generators add energy to the Grid from a multitude of entry points. Someone has to pay for this Grid.
The use of the word Fraud has legal connotations. To my knowledge, there are no ongoing criminal investigations against any failed supplier. Yes, suppliers failed because they lacked the financial resilience to cope with extraordinary market conditions. If we want Ofgem to ensure that no supplier will ever fail in the future, then the costs associated with this will level of protection will fall to energy consumers.
