hi , new gas cooker. When you turn knob left to ignite it it is in first section shown in second picture. Works from there. I then turn it more into second section as is first picture. Turning off by moving out of second section means flame goes higher before turning out.
I guess as its newish i'm a bit overtuned into it. Can you leave it on in the first section?

Once lit the knob controls the flame between min (small flame) and max (big flame) output.

(You press in, turn and hold pressed in to the big flame position while it ignites and keep pressed in for a short time.  Release too early and the flame failure thermocouple will cut off the gas to that burner.)

Of course you can use min, max or any setting in-between.

You have read the user manual, haven't you?

Thanks yes. Working my way through manual. All it says though is in picture here.
I was just wondering if you can leave in first section before large flame symbol.

Ah, I see what you mean. Off is the dot, Move to big flame to light, then adjust between big flame and little flame for the amount of heat required. You don't use the bit between the dot and the big flame.

Yes. Thats what i think too. Just seems to light best before big flame symbol with 2 or 3 clicks. And thought should i leave it in that section. Its as high or as low as in the obvious section.

As long as it's lit I think you can turn it anyway you want.
These symbols aren't always aligned with the insides but it maybe that being new with a nice shiny 'flint' it's just quicker.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Ah i see. Thanks. Yes two of the gas burners like to be lit before the big flame symbol.
Getting a sort of instinct for it now and not having to do so many clicks. My earlier pics didn't show little flame symbol. This one does.
