AOL piggyback

A couple of years ago I downloaded the AOL program and for a small monthly fee of £ 6.99 I was able to use AOL's chat facilities etc but using my own internet access (at the time I was using BT Internet).

I think the service was called "bring your own access".

I have tried to do the same recently but suspect this service might have been discontinued. AOL tech support says it isn't available but if they told me the grass was green I would still go outside to check.

Can anyone help ?
