New quote from energy supplier

I'm in the September Price Promise with BG & on the app there is just one new quote offered. This is 88% higher than what I am paying now. If any quotes now are accepted do they start immediately or when a fixed tariff ends? I'm not sure & at the moment haven't tried for a quote with another supplier. Any info on this would be appreciated please.

You can give it a try and talk to them if they will let you start later, but most likely it will start immediately or on the 1st of August if you are lucky.

I seriously doubt you will find any cheaper fixed tariff anywhere else, the deals offered to existing customers are usually the best available.

What are the unit rates you have been offered? Some of the better deals have been withdrawn a few days ago when the new predicted cap was published.

If it any consolation, my gas was 2.9p with zog, now 11.9 fixed with edf. Electric was with neon reef at 14p now fixed at 35p with British gas. Both also has doubled and some the daily standing charge.

Gas 400% plus increase 😡😡
Electric 250% increase

Standing charges for both doubled

I am at my wit's end like millions of us

Gas was 3.98p offered at 12.22 
Electricity was 20.07 offered 40.02
Both from British Gas.
Std Chrg Gas was 24.75 new 25.57
Electric was 25.45 new 44.14
