Car Insurance - Business class 1 - will it cover me in this situation?

Very occasionally we get asked to travel somewhere for a work conference. It is something which only happens once every couple of years.
I believe for this I need business class 1 car insurance, as it could be classed travel to multiple sites of work. Is this correct?
However we are asked to car pool for other people. For example, I pick up people from the office and then take us all the conference. I am not giving them a lift to work but more like transporting them from one place of work to another.
Would business class 1 insurance cover this?
Thanks

As long as you are the policyholder then yes.
On the taking colleagues along, presumably this is you going along to the same destination anyway so sharing rather than you only going there for the purpose of driving the other occupant? Presumably you dont get any payment for taking the passenger beyond the token extra 5p mileage allowance or whatever it is these days0 -

I get more than 5p, I think closer to 30p, but this is for payment of the fuel and wear and tear of the car.0 -
last time I was an employee it was 45p for simply using the car plus an additional 5p for each passenger... that sort of thing is fine... may show how long its been since I was an employee! Its if you were asked to drive somewhere where you weren't otherwise intending to go or if they were paying you £10/hr extra for driving people or such when you are much more into the space of hire & reward.SRRAE said:Sandtree said:As long as you are the policyholder then yes.
