Anyone who's recently opened an account - do you receive a notification when ID checks are complete? And at what stage is the £50 debited?0

When I opened an account quite a while back, they took the fee when I funded the account.granta said:Anyone who's recently opened an account - do you receive a notification when ID checks are complete? And at what stage is the £50 debited?

I had assumed the fee would be due on opening especially with the promotion currently running. I am planning to do a transfer in so it won't be funded for a while.Rollinghome said:

That should be fine. Does it show as outstanding in your cash account? As I remember, I paid in the first cash several weeks after opening the account, and the balance then showed what I'd paid in less the joining fee. They never requested it. But that was about 11 years ago, so you might like to message them to clarify if there is any deadline.granta said:
