Who are you currently with?
Very few if any are taking on new customers and when they do it's just on the standard variable/deemed rate protected by the price cap.
Some are having mixed outcomes switching to Octopus and once that is done they currently have a couple of tariffs that would save money over the price cap. Namely Agile for electricity and Tracker v3 for gas.0 -
Only EDF and potentially Octopus (with a bit of luck as described by @Mstty above) are accepting new customers on SVT.
SVT rates are more or less the same for all suppliers, there is no cheapest supplier.
EFT might offer you one of their "good" fixed tariffs once you are a customer, but that not guaranteed, and the deals are getting worse. A good deal was only 30 to 35% more than the current SVT anyway.
Octopus Agile and tracker are looking good at maximum 25% more than current SVT for electricity and maximum 50% more than current SVT for gas. The price changes daily and is based on wholesale price.
