Hello,
I moved house in early March 2022 gave the final meter reading to electricity company and closed my account. Now in June they have just sent me an updated bill. Are they allowed to do that?

Yes they are allowed to do that, but they will have to pay you £30 for taking more than 6 weeks.
Guaranteed standard
Compensation*
Supplier sends a final bill within six weeks of a switch.
£30 by former supplier

Thank you for the information. Is this from a standard they need to comply with?0

If I am using the same energy company in my new property, but with a different account number, would I still be entitled to the £30? thanks0

No idea, but they are talking only about previous supplier.0

And another £30 for failing to pay the first statutory compensation within 10 working days. If there was credit on the old account that they haven't refunded, potentially another £30 for the to cough up.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
