Thank you so much for your help. Your sage advice has been both helpful and reassuring.
It is incredibly upsetting to be threatened with a charge like this. I absolutely won't disappear from the forum this summer, both to make my voice heard this summer and to keep you updated how this all goes.
I also have a note in the next day or so to contact my local MP too and ensure I've made my voice heard there too.
Thank you again for the time that you took to advise on this and I will be sure to stick around this summer (and beyond).4 -
Following the submission of your appeal to PE (with a copy of your receipt), after a couple of days check the status of your charge by going to the PE website, entering the necessary references (as if to pay 😄) and accessing the detail. That will give you 24/7 ability to check where you're at. While PE will write to confirm cancellation, it can take between 7-10 days to come through. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Once again a BIG thank you to all for your help with this. Today a reply came back from PE and the ticket has been cancelled with no outstanding payment due!
This is undoubtedly thanks to the sage advice and support when going through the appeals process. It's a huge weight lifted to know that it has been cancelled and another BIG THANK YOU to all for your help.3 -
For reference also, this took 15 days to come as a reply from PE cancelling the ticket.1

It's really important that people come back and join us in responding in droves, because if the ban on fake DRA 'fee' escalation is not carried forward, then those false add-ons will enrich ParkingEye (who at least don't currently add it) by some £70 million taken from the public's pockets, EVERY year.
Please bookmark the top thread by MSE_JC and set alerts on your posting profile now, so that you get alerted to the Consultation. It won't be till after the new PM gets his or her ministers sorted and in place, I suspect.
But it will be this year.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
