Utility Warehouse

Dear all.
Hope u can help.
Im with Bulb on the standard variable tariff.
Last year i used 14,204kw of gas and 4691kw of electricity.
Martin advises that UW is circa 27% higher but fixed for a year.Im paying £212 per month at the moment but my useage is around £120 per month hi en Summer months.Im just buikding up some credit for the winter months.I dont need a £12 per month sim (£144 per year) nor do i need boiler cover or income protect. Can i opt for the sim and either bill cover or income cover for 12 months and not have boiler cover.Given £192 per year for income cover and £144 ,for the sim is this still overall a good deal.Guess it will still be in total over £300 ,per month but seeing other fixed deals at £500 per month? Please help.

Also maybe have a quick look at some of the other threads on Utility Warehouse on here. Put it this way - I'm a customer of theirs - but very much wish I wasn't!

What rates are they quoting you for electricity and gas?

I have done a quote for my home this morning using all possible add-ons and they come up with 9,6p for gas which is ok, but 44p for electricity.

If I have not done something completely wrong they might have changed the rates without changing the name of the plan.

Seems they changed the tariff today

Not so nice was that the old link from the article for Green Fixed 30 went directly onto the new tariff Green Fixed Tariff.

A confirmation for @EssexHebridean that you cannot trust them.

Oh this is a regular trick - they do it with bills if they make an error on those as well - simply correct the bill online, rather than cancelling it, but leaving it there, and issuing a revision. Then there is the matter of them ignoring meter readings if they can get away with it and their estimates would work in their favour - like my 31/3 one which didn't appear on the bill raised 8 days later!

If the OP is interested to read more than I have a thread dealing with my current issues.
