Any assistance with London Tribunals?

Hi
I was sent a fine by a local council for driving in a bus lane before 7pm. I appealed and they refused my appeal. I took it to London Tribunals and also lost this appeal on quite strange grounds.
From a small side street at 6:15pm, I entered a main road with restricted hours for buses only until 7pm. The sign situated in the small side street, warning me of the restriction was covered in moss, hidden by tree branches and bent away from the light so it was not visible. I provided a photo, and the adjudicator accepted this part of my claim (the local council also replaced the sign etc). However, the adjudicator refused my appeal saying that I should have been able to look into the main road and, before making the decision to turn left and enter the restricted area, I would have seen the larger sign (warning of the restriction to 7pm) on the main road situated about 20m away from the side street. Is this a reasonable conclusion? I was too busy checking traffic and pedestrians, and I am not sure I have ever checked signage in this way. Is there any legal requirement that means drivers should do this?
Any advice welcome, please.

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there but please note that a Hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway Gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering, and post a new thread; here's your link:Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own, to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate), as they need to see all the small print. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

OK, thank you. I have been to pepipoo and the site doesn't seem active anymore. I registered with a yahoo.co.uk address last week and I have heard nothing since, hence why I thought I'd try on here just for an opinion on what the highway code says about me requiring to look into a main road and check signage before turning.
