Moving in: Phone old or new energy supplier?
Hi,
i am moving into a house tomorrow. First time buyer. I will complete and move in tomorrow. I will take the meter readings tomorrow also and sort of my energy supplier.
The current supplier of the property is different to the one I am going to go with.

Would I need to phone the current supplier first with the meter readings, and then phone the supplier I want to use to switch it? Or would that be pointless and all I need to do is phone the supplier I want to go with and they would contact the current supplier for me?
I’m planning on getting the meter readings and making the calls tomorrow which is the first date I take ownership.

I hope this makes sense.
Many thanks

Yes, and you need to set up an account with them (insist on staying on the standard variable tariff) and only after all that is done can you consider switching, which may not be possible as many suppliers are not taking new customers on the standard variable tariff.JayG81 said:Would I need to phone the current supplier first with the meter readings...
