I don’t think you can leave a review on booking.com unless you have stayed there. Maybe the shower door was recent? How did you discover your key opened another door? Did you go around trying them all?0

I stayed there for four nights. The people in the next room were my sister and brother in law. We discovered by accident on the morning we were leaving that her key fitted my door and my key fitted her door0

We stayed in a hotel in Turkey where the shower wall did not go right up to the roof ,you could hear the people next door in the shower /talking etc ,not a major problem .0

Did you complain to the hotel management during your stay and ask to be moved to another room ?kah22 said:I’m not going to mention names but I recently spent a few days in Faro, Portugal on a stay home basis and therefore did not expect the Ritz but I found a shower door that didn’t fit, I was given a key which not only opened my door but the door into another apartment and theirs fitted mine! Not only that but there was a large opening at the ceiling level between my bathroom and the next door bathroom, way more than enough to climb through.Re-Reading reviews on Booking . Com I find 250 pretty positive reviews with a total score of 7.5 and yet I have photos which prove the direct opposite. Now I know that companies can post fake reviews, but 250 fake reviews spread over many countries?Have any members seen the like of that happening before. Yes I’ve checked in several ways just to make sure I was reviewing the correct property and I was.

Presumably that wasn’t just a remarkable coincidence and you actually booked the rooms together.kah22 said:I stayed there for four nights. They may have specific rooms which have this just for people who are under one booking.Obviously you are free to leave a review for the property like everyone else and if it was of a poor standard do so.It does seem overly dramatic to presume that all previous reviews were fake just because you disagree with the average review score on booking.com.1 -
Faro was our destination and from the pictures and reviews on booking.com it looked a great deal but we did book separately, she in her name, and I booked in my own name. So two separate bookings.
Look I know that reviews can differ and differ immensely but when I look at the photos I took and look at online reviews the two come nowhere near each other. You would almost think they were two different establishments, they weren't.Shoestring asked if we complained to the manage. All we seen of the 'management' was a guy who showed us into the building and our rooms. The next we heard from him was the night before we left when he phoned, asked us to leave the keys and the local tax on our beds and leave the door open. The only other person we saw was a woman who washed the corridor ever other morning.Anyway end of rant, I'll post my review and be dammed1 -
In addition to that why not just mentions names on here as well.I can never understand when people are extremely disappointed with something and want to create a bad review ( which they are completely entitled to do) they are reluctant to say where it was they stayed on here as well.1

Having been advised that a reply I was making you did not fit Forum Rules here is an edited version.
My sister, brother in law and myself stayed in two adjutant apartments at the SUITES ALIANÇA booking via booking.com which showed it as having over 250 positive reviews '“ We stayed Wednesday night through to Saturday night, both booking separately. As it was advertised as a homestay, built in the late 1700, so I was not expectng Ritz standard but taking that into account I was completely disappointed at the accommodation.
On entering it I discovered we had to climb 21 steep steps to reach the first floor, I'm 74. I formed the impression that the 'host' had rented this floor and had knocked it into 5 or 6 'apartments' with a small community kitchen, as I could see no activity on the other floors. The community kitchen was par for the course so no complaints there.
We had adjoining rooms but on the second day discovered that there was a large opening at the top of our shower rooms where it would be possible to access each others room.
The bathroom shower door would not close properly, it was a good 5cm or 2 inches out at the bottom meaning that the floor flooded, thankfully it was tiled but it took hours for all the over spilled water to escape. I never used the shower again! The washbasin presented it's own problems, there was no bottom only the thin metal top to the stopper. With difficulty I used this to wash and shave.
The seat of my toilet was chipped in four places, compressed wood was showing.
Perhaps the most alarming aspect of the whole experience was that on our last morning there, when we were packing up, we discovered that our keys could open each other doors. Had we discovered this earlier we would have left the building.
As regards 'management' we were showing to our rooms by a young man and that was the last we heard of him until he phoned on the morning we were leaving and asked us to leave the doors open and leave the keys and local tax on the bed. A woman washed the corridor every other day.

Best place for reviews is somewhere like tripadvisor. That is where I go to to read reviews of places before I book.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
