Holiday cottage reduced price after booking

I’m staying at a holiday cottage in Wales and have discovered that the price is listed on the website as £98 less than I booked it for 8 months ago for this exact date.  Should I be entitled to a refund? Opinions sought, thanks

Not entitled, would you pay the difference if they put the price up after you booked?

Just a thought, if they're allowing bookings for the holiday cottage you booked on the same date you booked, do they know it's booked?

Nope, not entitled. If they asked you for £98 more would you pay it them?

I would have the concerns which have already been mentioned.  How is the property which you have rented still being advertised, even with a different price?  Lowered price would suggest that occupancy date is close and they are desperate to let it.  First thing I would be doing is contacting them to make sure you haven't been scammed through a phoney site.
In answer to your question, no you aren't entitled to a reduction.  You paid the price requested at the time.  If you want to take the risk, and there is no cancellation fee, you could cancel your current booking and rebook at the new price.

You can always ask..... however, this is dynamic pricing: just like the airlines, any unsold seats might be sold cheaper nearer the date of departure to fill them. Also, while it might be advertised at that price, no guarantee that is the price it will be sold at. Double check it is still booked though.....I have heard horror stories of bookings being cancelled at the last minute because the owner (or their booking agent), was able to resell the accommodation at a higher price!

This. How can they still be advertising the same cottage for the same week that you've booked?

Could be a group of cottages that have been developed from say stables?

It could just be that the calendar on the website isn't up to date and if someone tried to actually book those dates they'd not be able to.

Or maybe they have 2-3 identical cottages as part of the same business & you just get assigned whichever one is available when you hit the book now button?
