My friend has travelled with this passport before but we are since hearing horror stories! We can’t get a new passport in time for our flight but we have noticed damage to the corner: I’ve tried contacting the airline, passport office and airport and nobody has given us an answer. Do you think there is any point us even trying to go on our holiday or will we be declined straight away with this passport

Bit of wear on the corner, not affecting or obscuring identity details / biometrics - forget the horror stories. Your friend has already used it as is, for travel..?

Ultimately the decision is each person you hand it to's hence no central agency can definitively state the answer.
When are you going on holiday? Where are you going on holiday to?
The odds are you'll probably be ok but I'd be looking to replace it at the earliest opportunity given it is showing damage on the face of critical pages.0 -
Thank you! She thinks it was similar to this when she last travelled and was ok. But she’s not 100% sureeDicky said:Bit of wear on the corner, not affecting or obscuring identity details / biometrics - forget the horror stories. Your friend has already used it as is, for travel..?0 -
We are supposed to fly on Friday. We tried getting a fast track passport but no appointments. We then heard people were showing up to the passport office in the morning and manage to get one same day. However that only applies to renewals, not damaged or lost ones. So we really are out of options! We’re travelling from Manchester to Ibiza. I’m being told by most people it’s pointless even trying to goSandtree said:Ultimately the decision is each person you hand it to's hence no central agency can definitively state the answer.

Wouldn't worry about it. I've handled passports in a far worse condition.

As long as the data page is not damaged and the chip can read there is no need to replace it. I wouldn't consider it damaged.0
